From May 26 to June 1, the 16th edition of the Brescia Women’s International Tennis Tournament will take place, organized in Castello by the Tennis Forza e Costanza 1911 Association, in collaboration with the Carolina Zani Melanoma Foundation.

For the occasion, the “Historical Collections” present the exhibition “Lo Scriba in Castello” (The Scribe in the Castle), consisting of collages created with posters collected by Clerici during his countless seasons as a correspondent and commentator at the Davis Cup, Wimbledon, Roland Garros, and other tournaments on the international circuit. Last but not least, there is a focus on the great female tennis players of the past, through photographs depicting them and short excerpts from articles by Gianni Clerici for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Giorno, and La Repubblica.

The tournament, which began in 2008, has seen the participation of big names from the WTA circuit, including Jasmine Paolini, the new champion at the Internazionali di Roma, whose career took off in 2019 with her triumph in Brescia.
